Liverpool football weekend: Anfield and Everton’s new stadium

Liverpool has two Premier League clubs: Liverpool at Anfield, north of the city centre, and Everton at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium on the waterfront at Bramley-Moore Dock. Liverpool John Lennon Airport mainly handles flights within Europe, so most visitors from further afield fly into Manchester Airport.

Getting to Liverpool from our 10 markets

Non-stop routes as listed on Wikipedia’s airport pages (Manchester Airport) on 18 October 2026; seasonal-only routes are left out. Routes and schedules change, so check with the airline before you book.

Trains run from Manchester Airport station to Liverpool Lime Street. From London, trains run from Euston to Liverpool Lime Street.

Getting to the grounds

Anfield: Kirkdale, on the Merseyrail Northern line about a mile away, is the nearest station; Liverpool Lime Street is about 2 miles from the ground, so most visitors from out of town finish the trip by taxi, bus or on foot.

Hill Dickinson Stadium: Take Merseyrail from the city centre to Sandhills, then walk about 15 minutes to the waterfront. Matchday shuttle buses also run from Commutation Row by Lime Street; Moorfields is about a 25-minute walk. Liverpool John Lennon Airport is south of the city; Manchester Airport has more long-haul routes.
